Everything Is Revealed

A voice is a precious kind of thing

unique to it's owner

if you take the time to listen closely

everything is revealed

well mostly, not always in words

you need to listen closely

open up your mind and heart

a voice will speak volumes

because a human voice is glorious

unlike anything on earth

singing the praises of life's journey

working, playing and praying

full of great excitement and pure joy

sometimes simply awe-struck

yes, a voice can weep out loud too

melancholy and tearful

wailing at the depths of true sorrow

a voice releases all the energy

with a gift for gab and connection

sharing laughter and love

filling a room with rich conversation

compromise and consideration

sometimes so silent and withdrawn

only to rest and rejuvenate again

until the voice rises to the occasion

of truth, justice and wisdom

speaking freely in a free society

without fear of violence or hatred

a voice is a precious kind of thing

just as every human being is
