Every Number Is A Name

I heard many more died today

men, women, young and old

seeing the numbers going up and up

listed by country, state and town

I heard many more infected today

some mild - more seriously sick

seeing the numbers going up and up

knowing every number is a name

I heard of families grieving and crying

not able to have a funeral, say goodbye

seeing the numbers changing hourly

more infected, more dying, more numbers

I heard the numbers will be getting worse

numbers with faces, families and friends

every number is a human heart

every number is a spirited life

every number is a beautiful being

every number is family and friends

every number is a unique story

every number is a name

every number is a name
