As The Earth Spins

As the earth spins

astronauts are in awe

they see the beauty

hanging in such glory

and yet truth be told

our earth is imploding

we are crumbling within

even in all our beauty

young men are dying

humans never learn

astronauts in awe

and yet so saddened

As the big earth spins

killing goes on everyday

generation to the next

we have not learned

Astronauts in awe

when from a distance

beauty looms large

and yet humans keep on

ripping hearts apart

and killing one another

and mothers cry
